It was 40 years ago today. A little rock n’ roll musical written by out-of-work actor, Richard O’Brien, premiered at the 63-seat theatre, The Royal Court Theatre upstairs. Young actors Tim Curry, Julie Covington, Chris Malcom, Richard O’Brien, Patricia Quinn, Rayner Bourton, Nell Campbell & Paddy O’Hagan made up the original cast. 15 months later, filming began for the film version of the hit musical which would become the longest running theatrical release of all time and the greatest and most well known cult film in history.

Here’s a few “classic” guns I drew for Mercenary Kings. Besides these ones, pretty much all other gun sprites of the games are drawn by Paul Robertson.

From Game Designer Jonathan Lavigne’s tumblr, a couple of the more realistic weapons you can assemble in Mercenary Kings!

You might recognize a couple of these weapons from specific action movie scenes, which is where they come from, for the most part!

Of course, everyone will recognize the SPAS-12 shotgun (fourth column, second row) from the 1984 italian action classic BLASTFIGHTER:




What a name, right? It would not be okay to bring up the movie without its pretty awesome 80s-synth opening titles:
